Following the release of the iPhone 6, Apple has now revealed that its new toy can be used to pay for Christmas shopping. At Apple’s October media event, they revealed the launch date for Apple Pay, the thinnest tablet in history and the highest resolution PC.
Apple Pay is defined as being the ‘easy, secure and private mobile payment experience’ but just how secure can a mobile phone be when simply holding an iPhone to a contactless reader? Isn’t this ‘quick and seamless’ method just an effortless method for hackers to access our financial data?
For those in the US, Apple Pay can be used from October 20th, but for the UK, rest assured that Apple is ‘working hard’ to make its ‘payment plan’ available to you.
From McDonald’s to Toys’R’Us, Apple Pay has already proved a big hit with many companies, thus leading to question the future of many jobs. Are we going to reach ‘the rise of the robot’? Google’s Director of Engineering, Ray Kurzweil, thinks so. By 2029, Kurzweil believes technology will be able to ‘learn, experience, tell stories and jokes, and flirt; all better than humans do.
